Happy New Year Everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful restful holiday season and are surviving our prolonged bout with frigid temperatures. We have some great red wines that will warm you from the inside out. Cabernets, Syrahs, Zinfandels, Merlots, Bordeauxs, Malbec, Carmenere etc, etc. Oh and don't forget the dessert wines! Nothing says winter like sitting near a fire with a beautiful glass of red wine or port. This Saturday (Jan. 9th) is the Artrageous Artwalk 5:30-8:30pm. This is the last month for our featured artists from "The Blue Door" Gallery. Stop in and check out the fabulous works of art on display by this talented group of women. As usual we will have some fun and interesting wines for you to taste. Thursday January 21st 5:30-7:30++ "Warming Winter Wines" wine tasting with JP Pugliese from Transatlantic Wines. Are you getting the hint? We are really excited about our fabulous red wine selection. Having said that, we will start with St. Clement Chardonnay, a beautiful example of the Carneros region. Right on the San Pablo Bay, Carneros is known for its chilly growing climate that produces wonderful Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs. Next we will be tasting a new hidden gem, Viridian Pinot Noir from Oregon. Not only is this a tasty wine but a great value. Viridian's wine maker is best known as the former vintner at King Estate. Sonoma Merlot is Rodney Strong's second label. This wine is rich and layered with flavors that will have you dreaming of wild berries and juicy plums (is it too late for visions of sugar plums?). Finally 2 wines from the Estate 75 Winery. 75 Cabernet Sauvignon and Victory Vineyards Zinfandel. You remember 1975-right? Teena graduated from high school, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" sweeps the Oscars, Jimmy Hoffa disappears, Tiger Woods appears, Muhammad Ali wins the "Thrilla in Manila" and Tuck Beckstoffer piled his family into his Ford Country Squire faux wood paneled station wagon bound for America's oenological paradise-Napa Valley. Thank goodness because his Cabernet Sauvignon homage to 1975 is a delicious, beautiful wine. Equally as wonderful is the Victory Vineyards Zinfandel, rich, spicy with great depth of flavor. $5 tasting fee, refundable with the purchase of the featured wines. As more events come together, we will let you know! Again, best wishes from Intercoastal Wine Company for a safe, healthy, happy and prosperous New Year. Remember to shop downtown Fernandina, we depend on your support. Thanks! Cheers! Teena, Carlos and Bob
